Beginning in the early 19th century as a little snack to break up the time between the two main meals of the day: breakfast and dinner at 8pm, Afternoon Tea has gained in popularity. Nowadays, it is enjoyed by many as a 'wee treat' and often enjoyed as a way of celebrating a special occasion.
Here at the Dowans our in-house baker, serves up a delicious array of treats - both savoury and sweet - all freshly prepared every day and only using the finest of ingredients and local produce. Served between 1 and 4pm every day, we ask that all reservations are made with us 24 hours in advance. And don't worry about any dietary requirements that you might have - we can accommodate them all!
